I had to share my brilliant experience with Thrifty and the team in Bolton... They were fantastic! I got looked after on both collecting and dropping off, I also fell in love with the car I'd been so lucky to receive... The awesome Mitsubishi ASX 4x4! I even washed it before dropping it back so I could have one last look haha! Very helpful, friendly and efficient, nice big carr park, and it's very close to all the main car dealerships in Bolton, especially BMW and Renault , so really handy if you need to return a vehicle, cos you are collecting a new one from one of the dealers.
Spent ages handing over more identication documents then a UN security clearance and then cause I wanted to pay all their hidden extras on a credit card and didn't have a statement but had given them a bank statement no go. As for monies to be refunded shocked looked when asked for confirmation it had been done, don't trust me don't trust you.
Suitably impressed! Found Thrifty with an internet search for cheap car hire. They haven't been there long, as I knew the building as an auto-windscreen repair shop previously. Booked on line, paying for the rental, with the deposit and insurance waiver fee to pay on pick-up.Friendly and competent reception, furnishing me with the usual paperwork, and a sheet of paper for me to sign showing the car only had 1/4 tank of fuel, not the normal full tank, as being busy, they'd had to get extra vehicles in quickly. I should have checked more carefully as it only had an eighth of a tank, but in the end it mattered not. The vehicle's fuel consumption was so frugal it was easy to match the original volume.Car, an Astra 1.6 diesel, was excellent in every way. smooth silent engine, comfortable interior, well-equipped and with more than adequate performance. Served us well on a 500-mile round trip to London over two days!The inspection on returning the vehicle was far more scrupulous than with any other renter I've used, so just as well it was immaculate when I dropped it off. And the deposit was transferred back to my account immediately!I'd definitely recommend Thrifty, and will use them again, should the need arise!
