Lovely
I feel that I must write this review based on my unbiased experience at this place. Firstly, let's get one thing clear from the start, this place isn't the Hilton or Ritz hotel of Bolton!Due to very unfortunate circumstances I recently found myself homeless, courtesy of a very well known Scottish bank, that you and me the British tax payer, bailed out of colossal debts in 2008.Having repossessed my home one morning by force (claiming that they were told by neighbours my property was empty, which is a lie) I found myself with nowhere to live or sleep. I ended up sleeping under the doorway porch of "my house" for the next 18 days.Worse still, I had a very dependent 10 year old Great Dane called Teela (equivalent to about 80 human years) who was also chucked out onto the streets with me. For the first couple of nights we both slept huddled together outside, with only an old bed quilt of mine to keep us warm.Thankfully neighbours rallied around and a guy called Mel offered the back of his works van for Teela to sleep in and another called Adrian sorted out an inflatable camp bed and sleeping bag for me. During this period I made numerous visits to Bolton Council to explain my predicament, without the offer of a roof over my head. After being passed from pillar to post, I ended up speaking to a guy called Alan from Bolton Urban Outreach who was most helpful and ultimately arranged for me to stay at Glendale Guest House after sleeping rough outside for nearly 3 weeks. This started 2 days after the British heatwave ended and it rained nearly every night. The Glendale is not a place for a cosy weekend away with your Mrs or even with the lads or girls on a night out. It's an essential place for someone like me, in times of crisis, to get a safe and comfortable place to temporarily live and sleep in safety. The brothers that own this place are very friendly and helpful. Little things like asking for extra tea and coffee in the room were always accommodated. Clean towels are always available. If you're looking for luxury forget it. If you want somewhere safe in times of need, this place is for you.My real name is not Mike Andrews. I've posted it under this name for legal reasons. Thanks for reading Mark.
Great for a stay over. Clean and comfortable. Lovely helpful staff. Recommended
After reading some of the reviews, i was a little wary of staying here. But i was taken by suprise. The staff were really friendly and the room was decent too, dont get me wrong its not the hilton standard, but its cosy after all you get what you pay for. The room was clean and cosy to stay in. I was regularly asked if i needed anything which made me feel quite valued. I would stay here again its cheap and cheerful :) x
Great Place to Stay, Would reccommend to Anybody, :')
