Great day out...fun experience...i visited with the guys I support out in the community...they all had a good time...the people that work there were lovely
Features a varied selection of modes of transport from days gone by, and each exhibit has an explanatory account card. For the railway exhibits there are period videos playing on screens, a model shunting yard display, and photographic tags of late chaps who worked on the railways. This museum is both educational and flippin' brilliant!
Fabulous. Volunteers very friendly and helpful. Museum interesting and fun for all ages . Not tedious. Spent about 1 to 1 and a half hours there.
Very interesting place to while away an hour or so for free. Our children enjoyed seeing all the old vehicles. There were a few hands on things for them to do, along with a dressing up area. The cab of a bus was what they loved the most. If they could of, they would have stayed there all day pretending to be bus drivers. Happy to leave a donation. Well worth a visit!
We went and had a look using our tickets for the East Lancashire Railway to get free entry.Interesting array of vehicles (although, mainly buses!) in a relatively small space.Good information displays upstairs, with some useful interactive features for the kids. However, most of these interactive elements are in serious need of 'restoration' to return them to a more usable state. The kids loved 'driving' the front end of bus which has been installed for this purpose.
