Fun Victorian Christmas evening extravaganza. Beautifully preserved house but with a hands on approach. As it should be.
I help run the outdoor preschool sessions there and it's a truly beautiful place to be. The grounds are both interesting and serene (weather permitting!). The building is also a sight to behold! Fascinating history and a warm welcome (and hot coffee) make for an engaging few hours.
Took my 6 year old here at half term as she was learning about Victorian times at school. The staff were fantastic, very knowledgeable and keen to engage us in the history of the Tower. I was pleasantly surprised at how much i enjoyed it and my daughter loved the tales of the children's naughty antics, she told all her friends at school about the tower.Planned to have lunch in the tearoom then walk the grounds but was disappointed to find it was cash only in the tearoom. Otherwise would have been 5 stars. Quite easy to get a card reader these days as most people don't tend to carry cash anymore.
Good interesting informative visit. Worth the small fee. Lovely walks surrounding the building as a bonus.
